This study proposes an in-depth examination of identity and social development in Africa, focusing on Angolan culture in the face of contemporary challenges. Grounded in the principles of the sociology of culture, the work investigates how social and historical phenomena shape collective and individual experiences.
The first part outlines the conceptual foundations of pedagogy and social science to establish the legitimacy of a critical evaluation of community dynamics. Subsequently, the focus shifts to the history of Angola, critically revisiting the traumas of colonization, the slave trade, the tortuous paths of the liberation struggle, and the aftermath of subsequent political conflicts.
Building upon this historical overview, the investigation advances an incisive diagnosis of the country's current reality, which is characterized by a profound crisis of values. It analyzes the impacts of nihilism, materialism, and the breakdown of traditional languages on the family, schools, and the State.
As a theoretical and practical response to this fragmentation, the book draws on philosophical anthropology to rescue the integrity of the human person in their corporeal, cognitive, volitive, and transcendental dimensions. Finally, through the lens of political philosophy, the work outlines structural paths for the social reconstruction of Angola. It proposes an urgent renewal based on cultures of truth, democratic freedom, co-responsible labor, and solidarity, pointing toward social harmony and the nation's comprehensive, sustainable progress.
